Red Ochre is the earthy red-brown in the Dimension Acrylic Premium range, based on PR101 (Red Iron Oxide), the same family of pigment responsible for ancient cave paintings and the red earth of the Australian outback. It sits between Burnt Sienna and Permanent Red in the spectrum, with more muted earthiness than either: it reads as rust, red laterite soil, terracotta, and the red-brown of aged timber and iron. Fully opaque and warm, it is a natural background tone and a versatile earth pigment for warm landscape, architectural, and still life subjects.
