Mont Marte Dimension Acrylic Premium
Emerald Green 75ml
Vivid, bright, jewel-quality green: the colour of lush summer foliage, tropical plants, and bold colour work.

Emerald Green is the vivid, fully saturated green in the Dimension Acrylic Premium range, based on a blend of PG7 (Phthalo Green) and PY74 (Arylide Yellow). It delivers the rich, jewel-like green of a tropical leaf or lush summer garden, with a brightness and saturation that would be difficult to match from basic mixing. Semi-opaque and intensely coloured, it is at its best in passages where a fully saturated, immediately impactful green is needed. In the ultra-thick heavy body formula, it holds knife marks and impasto texture without slumping. Dries to a gloss finish with a Blue Wool Level 7+ lightfast rating. Available in 75ml tubes and 250ml pots.

★ Art Shed Staff Tip
Emerald Green is most powerful used close to full strength. Adding Sap Green or Hookers Green Deep shifts it toward a more complex, naturalistic foliage colour while retaining its saturation. Avoid adding white to it if you want to keep the vivid quality: the colour shifts toward a muted grey-green with white added.

Consistency
Ultra-Thick Heavy Body
Emerald Green delivers the full ultra-thick Dimension Acrylic Premium formula, holding palette knife ridges and impasto marks in permanently sculptural form.
Saturation
Maximum Green Intensity
The PG7 and PY74 base gives Emerald Green maximum saturation from the tube. No mixing is needed to arrive at this vivid jewel green for tropical and garden passages.
Range
Warm Vivid Green with Mixing Depth
While Emerald Green is most powerful at full strength, it mixes convincingly with earth tones toward naturalistic foliage colour, and with darker greens toward deep jungle and forest tones.
Lightfastness
Blue Wool Level 7+ / ASTM I
Rated at Blue Wool Level 7 or above (equivalent to ASTM I), Dimension Acrylic Premium Emerald Green is formulated to remain unchanged for more than 100 years under museum-quality lighting conditions. Purpose-built for archival and professional work.

About Mont Marte Dimension Acrylic Premium

Founded in Australia in 2002, Mont Marte creates high-quality fine art materials for students, hobbyists, and professional artists worldwide. Dimension Acrylic Premium is their flagship heavy body range: an ultra-thick, high-viscosity acrylic formulated for impasto work, palette knife painting, and any technique that demands a paint that holds its shape. With a Blue Wool Level 7+ lightfast rating (equivalent to ASTM I), the 48-colour range is built for serious, permanent work. Available in 75ml tubes and 250ml pots.

Is Emerald Green safe to use?

Yes. The modern Emerald Green in Dimension Acrylic Premium is based on PG7 (Phthalo Green) and PY74, with no connection to the historic Emerald Green (copper acetoarsenite), which was a highly toxic pigment no longer used in artists' materials.

Can I use Dimension Acrylic Emerald Green with a palette knife?

Yes. Palette knife application is one of the primary uses for Dimension Acrylic Premium. The ultra-thick formula sits firm on the knife, deposits a clean hard-edged layer on the surface, and holds the shape of each mark as it dries without slumping. Apply straight from the tube for maximum texture and sharp ridges.

Why does Emerald Green shift when I add white?

Adding Titanium White to any phthalo-based green reduces its saturation and shifts the tone toward a muted, slightly grey-green. For pale or light green passages, it is often better to use Sap Green lightened with white, or to mix Lemon Yellow with a small amount of Phthalo Blue.

How long does Dimension Acrylic Emerald Green take to dry?

Thin applications dry in 20-30 minutes. Heavy impasto builds applied with a palette knife can take 1-2 hours to dry fully. Drying time extends in cold or humid conditions. Do not apply a second thick layer over the first until the lower layer has dried completely to the touch.

What surfaces can I use Dimension Acrylic Emerald Green on?

Canvas, board, wood, air-dry clay, plaster, cardboard, paper, leather, and most rigid plastics. For best adhesion on non-porous or slick surfaces, apply a coat of gesso or acrylic primer first. Dimension Acrylic Premium is compatible with all Mont Marte acrylic mediums, gels, and impasto pastes.
