Large detailed work takes time, sometimes days on one sheet. That puts pressure on the paper. Cheap paper starts to fluff and stain where your hand rests and where you rework an area. This one is cotton, cylinder mould made and sized twice, so the surface stays sound from the first pencil line to the last highlight.
It is also acid free, chlorine free and made without optical brighteners. That last point matters more than most people realise. Brighteners can make paper look whiter in the shop, then fade as they age. Without them, the soft natural white you start with is the white your collector still sees in twenty years.

Working Big on Smooth Paper
Tape the sheet to a rigid board on all four sides before you begin. A3 shows any cockling more than smaller sizes, and a taped sheet dries flatter. Work in sections, keeping a wet edge, and use a larger flat or mop brush for backgrounds so you are not dragging a small brush across a big area.

For anything beyond light washes, yes. Taping all four edges to a board with gummed tape or low tack tape keeps the sheet flat as it dries and gives you a clean border when you peel it away.
