Kent Urban Acrylic Paint Marker 1mm Super Fine Yellow
Our everyday low price
Glow on dark. Kent Urban Acrylic Paint Marker 1mm Super Fine Yellow is a bright, opaque yellow acrylic paint marker with a super fine 1mm nib for sparks, highlights, lettering details and lines that pop on black.
Why the Kent Urban 1mm Yellow Earns Its Spot
Most yellow pens go see through on anything darker than white. Kent Urban is opaque acrylic paint, so the 1mm Yellow lays down a solid line on dark paper, painted wood and plastic.
It is perfect for the sparks, stars and glow lines that make a piece feel like it is moving.
How to Use Your Kent Urban Paint Marker
- Shake it. Cap on, shake well until the mixing ball rattles freely.
- Prime the nib. On scrap paper, press the tip down gently a few times until the paint flows. Gentle is the word.
- Test first. Do a quick line on scrap, or on a hidden spot of the surface, to check the flow and colour.
- Draw with light pressure. Let the nib glide. Build colour in layers rather than pressing harder.
- Let it dry, then layer. Water based acrylic dries fast. Wait until it is touch dry before going over it with another colour.
- Store flat. Click the cap on firmly and store the marker flat.

Getting the Most From a Super Fine Nib
A 1mm nib rewards a light hand. Hold the marker a little more upright than a pen, let the paint do the work and build colour in a couple of thin passes instead of pressing hard. Pressing pushes the nib back and floods the line.
Work from light to dark and broad to fine: paint or block in your colours first, let them dry, then finish with fine outlines and details. Keep a scrap of paper beside you to dab the nib on when you pick it up after a break.
Project idea: draw a lightning bolt outline around your letters in 1mm Yellow on black card, then add tiny sparks flying off the corners.
Want the same colour in a broader nib? Grab the 3mm Yellow or 6mm Yellow. See every colour in the Kent Urban 1mm Super Fine paint markers, or browse the full Kent Urban acrylic paint marker range.
Questions About the Kent Urban 1mm Yellow
Will the Kent Urban 1mm Yellow cover a dark background?
Yes, that is what it is best at. It is opaque acrylic paint ink, so it shows up bright on dark paper and painted surfaces. For maximum punch on black, let the first pass dry and add a second layer.
What is a 1mm paint marker best for?
Detail. A 1mm Super Fine nib is the size for outlines, lettering, tiny highlights, pattern work and anything where a 3mm nib would feel like painting with a broom. It is the marker you reach for to finish a piece: the crisp line around a character, the sparkle in an eye, the signature in the corner.
What surfaces does the Kent Urban 1mm paint marker work on?
Kent Urban uses water based acrylic paint ink that works on wood, metal, glass, plastic, canvas, fabric, stone and most smooth surfaces. On very glossy surfaces like glass, glazed ceramic and shiny plastic, clean off any grease first and let each layer dry fully, then seal the piece if it will be handled a lot.
Is Kent Urban paint marker ink permanent and waterproof?
Yes, once it is dry. The water based acrylic pigment ink is permanent and waterproof when dry and resistant to UV, so it suits indoor and outdoor projects. While it is still wet it wipes off most smooth surfaces with a damp cloth, which is handy when you slip.
What is the difference between the 1mm, 3mm and 6mm Kent Urban markers?
Line width. The 1mm Super Fine is for fine detail and small lettering, the 3mm Fine is the all rounder for drawing and mid size lettering with a reversible bullet and chisel tip, and the 6mm Medium covers bigger shapes and bold lettering faster. Most artists end up with a fine and a broad and switch between them in the same piece.
Do I need to seal Kent Urban paint marker art?
Not always. On paper and canvas the dry ink is permanent on its own. On things that get handled, washed or worn, like shoes, phone cases, mugs used for display or skate decks, a clear sealer or varnish adds a tough layer and protects the fine lines from scuffs.
Why is my 1mm paint marker blotchy or flooding?
Usually it has been pumped too hard or not shaken enough. Give it a good shake with the cap on, then dab the tip on scrap paper to soak up any extra paint. Use light, even pressure when you draw. A fine nib needs a gentle touch.
