Kent Urban Acrylic Paint Marker 3mm Fine Brown
Our everyday low price
Earthy, grounded and underrated. Kent Urban Acrylic Paint Marker 3mm Fine Brown is an opaque brown acrylic paint marker with a reversible bullet and chisel nib for shadows, wood and skin tones, characters and vintage looking pieces.
Why the Kent Urban 3mm Brown Earns Its Spot
Brown is the colour nobody buys first and everyone ends up needing. Hair, wood grain, skin tones, shadows and anything with a worn, vintage feel.
It sits opaque on kraft paper and light card, which looks great for retro pieces.
How to Use Your Kent Urban Paint Marker
- Shake it. Cap on, shake well until the mixing ball rattles freely.
- Prime the nib. On scrap paper, press the nib down gently a few times until the paint flows right to the tip. Do not pump it hard.
- Pick your end. Bullet for even lines and fills, chisel for handstyles and thick and thin strokes. The nib is reversible, so swap ends whenever you need to.
- Test first. Do a few strokes on scrap to check the flow and colour.
- Let it dry, then layer. Water based acrylic dries fast. Wait until it is touch dry before an outline, a shine or another colour.
- Store flat. Click the cap on firmly and store the marker flat.

Getting the Most From a 3mm Fine Nib
The 3mm is the everyday size. Use the bullet end for outlines, sketches and filling small letters, and flip to the chisel end when you want handstyle strokes with real thick and thin.
For bigger pieces, fill the large areas with a 6mm Medium first, let it dry, then come back with the 3mm for outlines, shadows and shines.
Project idea: draw on kraft paper with Brown, Black and White only. The paper does the mid tone and your piece looks like an old poster.
Need the same colour in a bolder line? Grab the 6mm Medium Brown. See every colour in the Kent Urban 3mm Fine paint markers, or browse the full Kent Urban acrylic paint marker range.
Questions About the Kent Urban 3mm Brown
What is the Kent Urban 3mm Brown good for?
Shadows on warm colours, hair and skin tones on characters, wood grain and texture, and anything with a vintage feel. It also looks great on kraft paper with Black and White.
Is Kent Urban paint marker ink permanent and waterproof?
Yes, once it is dry. The water based acrylic pigment ink is permanent, waterproof and UV resistant when dry, and Kent rates it for indoor and outdoor use. While it is still wet it wipes off smooth surfaces with a damp cloth, which is handy for fixing a slip before it sets.
Can I use Kent Urban paint markers on sneakers?
Yes. Kent lists fabric among the surfaces the range works on, and the acrylic ink grips well on canvas sneakers and smooth leather. Clean the area first, build the colour in light layers, let each layer dry fully, and finish with a clear sealer so your design survives scuffs and wear.
Can I use Kent Urban paint markers outdoors?
Yes. The ink is UV resistant and waterproof once dry, and Kent rates the range for indoor and outdoor use. For anything that lives outside, like a painted deck, a helmet or a piece on a legal wall, a clear outdoor varnish over the top keeps it fresh for longer.
Will Kent Urban paint markers cover black paper?
Yes. The acrylic paint ink is opaque, so it sits on top of black card and dark surfaces instead of soaking in like dye ink. Light colours on very dark backgrounds may need a second coat once the first is dry for full, solid colour.
Do I need to seal Kent Urban paint marker art?
Not on paper or in a blackbook, where the dry ink is permanent on its own. On things that get handled, worn or left outside, like skate decks, sneakers, helmets and jackets, a clear sealer or varnish adds a tough top layer that protects your work from scuffs.
How do I swap the Kent Urban nib from bullet to chisel?
The nib is reversible, with a bullet tip on one end and a chisel on the other. Cap the marker and give it a shake first, then gently pull the nib out, turn it around and push it back in firmly. Clean fingers or a pair of tweezers make it easy. Prime it on scrap paper before you start again.
Where can I buy Kent Urban paint markers in Australia?

We ship fast Australia wide, and our team are artists who use these products themselves, so ask us anything. Kent Urban Brown also comes in the 6mm Medium size, and we carry every other Kent Urban nib size too.
