The largest of our new Art Spectrum rectangles. The Art Spectrum Wooden Panel 30 x 40cm is a sanded birch panel with an ultra smooth, warp resistant surface, ready for priming and suitable for all mediums, from oils to watercolours.

It is the size for finished, frame worthy work: a landscape with depth, a full figure, a busy market scene or a bold abstract with plenty of room to move.

Panel Details

A 3 to 4 rectangle is one of the most natural shapes for picture making. It gives a landscape a strong horizon, and stood upright it suits figures, trees and tall city views.

On wood, larger work keeps a lovely solid feel. Brush marks sit crisply, glazes stay even, and the panel will not drum or dent like canvas.

How We Use It

Prime with several thin coats of gesso and sand lightly between them for a smooth finish. Block in the big shapes with a large brush and work towards detail.

Stand it on one of our studio easels and paint with Art Spectrum oils or acrylic paints. Shop gesso and primers to prepare the surface.
