Handy hints:

• Shake really well before use

• If possible, apply in dry, mild weather (20–25°C) to avoid cloudiness or tackiness

• For an ultra-smooth finish, apply horizontally on a flat surface in smooth even coats

• Test on a small sample before coating your final piece, as different surfaces affect gloss intensity

• When spraying is finished, turn can upside down and spray out what is left in the nozzle. This protects the nozzle keeping it clean.

• Store upright at room temperature; if the can feels cold, let it warm slightly before use to prevent splatter.

• Always use in a well venitilated area and avoid inhaling

About the Brand

At the height of the depression in the 1930s, Sam Golden joined his uncle Leonard Bocour as a partner in 'Bocour Artist Colors'. Leonard and Sam produced hand-ground oil colours for artists. The shop on 15th Street in Manhattan became a hangout for artists from the 1930s through the early 1950s. Artists such as Mark Rothko, Helen Frankenthaler and Jackson Pollock would go to the shop to visit with Leonard, talk to Sam and to purchase paint.

'Golden Artist Colors, Inc.' began in June of 1980 in a 85 square metre renovated barn. Sam, his wife Adele, son Mark and daughter-in-law Barbara Golden, along with partner Chuck Kelly, founded a new company that would embody Sam's dedication to professional artists.

With such a rich history in North America, Golden has grown enormously, it has become a popular brand for artists around the world and is a highly regarded provisioner of fine art products.
