Jo Sonja 250ml White Gesso

Gesso is a surface primer or ground designed to prepare canvas, sculptures or boards for painting. Jo Sonja Gesso is a flexible acrylic ground with a high grit content which provides tooth on which to paint. 

Jo Sonja's Gesso available in: Black or White may be used instead of, or as well as, All Purpose Sealer.

Usually applied on very porous or uneven surfaces, the grit will have a slight levelling effect which is beneficial for inferior surfaces or rough edges.

Multiple coats can be applied, ensure each coat is fully dried before applying the next one.

Features:

• 250ml Jar with screw cap

• Suitable for acrylic or oil painting

• May be sanded when dry for a smoother surface.

Handy hints:

• Apply directly to surface using a clean dry brush, roller or air brush.

• Apply undiluted to stretched unprimed canvas.

• Apply subsequent coats as soon as previous coats are dry to the touch. 

• Colours may be altered using Chroma’s Jo Sonja Artists’ or Background Colours. Add in small amounts to tint as desired.

• Do not mix with oil-based products.

• For airbrushing, thin Gesso with Flow Medium starting at 1:1 ratio, adding Flow Medium until desired viscosity is reached.
