Fimo Leather Effect Polymer Clay - Berry No 229

Visually and texturally, this modelling clay is very similar to leather. This unique quality opens up completely new possibilities for modelling. The clay remains bendable after hardening, and thin pieces can be cut, sewn, punched or embossed once cured. This makes a unique material to make gifts, jewellery, embellishments, accessories and decor items for your home.

Features:

  • Standard block 57 g

  • Suitable for beginners, kids and hobby artists

  • Soft and smooth consistency

  • Finish is comparable with leather

  • 12 Colours available

  • Divided into 8 portions for easy blending.

  • Compatible with FIMO Effect and FIMO Soft

Handy hints:

  • You will need a suitable work surface that is smooth, flat and dust free.

  • The work surface and your hands should be clean.

  • The FIMO block should be stored correctly.

  • The modelling clay should be cured properly.

To open the clay, there is an easy-to-open tab on the back of the package. Carefully pull apart the packaging film at the back, ensuring it stays intact for wrapping any leftover modelling clay for later use.

To harden FIMO Leather-effect, the oven should be preheated to 130°C.

Once the oven has been preheated to 130°C, line a baking sheet with baking parchment or aluminium foil and place in the oven for 30 minutes. The hardening temperature and time should be precisely observed. Do not bake at higher temperature than 130°C. Once cooled, it is ready to varnish, paint or decorate.

Since ovens differ we recommend using an oven thermometer to ensure proper hardening.

Storing FIMO Leather-effect correctly

Left over FIMO can be wrapped to keep protected from dust, sunlight and heat. We recommend storing it in plastic wrap in a cool and dry place. Avoid contact with polystyrene or PVC.
