Why We Celebrate Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea at Art Shed

Every June, Australians come together over cuppas and cupcakes to raise vital funds for cancer research and support — and here at Art Shed, we’re proud to do our part with a creative twist.

We’re hosting a special Still Life Tea & Paint afternoon in support of the Cancer Council’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, blending art, awareness, and community in one deliciously meaningful event.

What Is Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea?

Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is a national fundraising event organised by the Cancer Council. Communities, schools, workplaces and local businesses across the country host morning teas to raise money for cancer research, prevention programs, and support services for Australians affected by cancer.

The event has become a heartfelt tradition — a chance to gather, reflect, and contribute to a cause that touches nearly all of us. Whether it’s a cuppa with friends or a large public event, every dollar raised helps fund life-saving work.

Why We Get Involved

Cancer has touched so many in our Art Shed community, friends, family, team members, and customers. For us, the Biggest Morning Tea is more than an event, it’s a moment to give back, show support, and channel creativity into something that truly matters.

That’s why we’ve put our own spin on it: a Still Life Tea & Paint session, where every brushstroke becomes a gesture of hope.

We’re using brushes as weapons and art as an act of hope. Let’s raise funds, raise spirits, and give cancer the boot.

Still Life Tea & Paint: A Creative Fundraiser

On Saturday, 14th June from 12–2 pm at Art Shed Moorabbin, we’re inviting you to join us for an unforgettable afternoon of colour, connection, and cause.

Led by our wonderful team members Kat and Lenis, you’ll spend two hours painting a real-life morning tea still life — complete with pastries, cupcakes, teapots, and more.

No experience is needed. Just bring your good vibes and we’ll supply all the materials (and the snacks).

100% of Ticket Sales Go to the Cancer Council

Tickets are $30 and every single cent goes directly to the Cancer Council.

That means your paintbrush is helping fund vital research, support services, and community outreach. Art with purpose, plain and simple.

A: Saturday 14th June, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Art Shed Moorabbin.

A: 100% of your $30 ticket goes to the Cancer Council to support cancer research and community services.

A: Not at all! This session is for everyone — no experience necessary.

Q: Can I get a refund if I can’t make it?
A: Yes, refunds are available up to 7 days before the event via Eventbrite. Within 7 days, we’re unable to offer refunds as this is a fundraiser.

A: Yes, there’s free parking available on-site.
