You can ‘delay’ the drying process and ‘control’ the paint's open time for as long as you want, simply with water, from a few minutes to hours you have the control. Whenever you are ready you can then choose when it will dry rapidly again simply by withholding water. It’s that simple - and only possible with Interactive’s patented formula.

With only a mist of water, or moist brush blending paint layers with Atelier Interactive is so easy, better and far smoother than with any other acrylic paint. Atelier Interactive lets you control the open time, from minutes, to hours with water, or for days with an unlocking formula.

There is another unique benefit. Atelier Interactive’s patented formula allows you to magically re-activate touch-dry paint using Atelier Unlocking Formula to once again return to wet-in-wet blending techniques. A true revolution in acrylic paint technology.

About the brand

Chroma Australia is dedicated to providing high-quality paint for artists, teachers, students and all creatives. Founded and still manufacturing in Sydney, Australia, in 1965 by artist and educator Jim Cobb, Chroma’s focus is and has always been on the development of both innovative and quality products. A high school teacher at that time, Jim was frustrated at not being able to source artists’ paint with the qualities that he wanted for his own and his students’ art. Jim began badgering household paint manufacturers in Sydney’s west for supplies to experiment with. This was the start of a lifetime of passion for developing paints specifically formulated to meet the changing needs of artists and students.

Shortly after, Jim founded Chroma Australia (formerly Chroma Acrylics) in Mt Kuring-Gai in Sydney’s upper north shore and successfully supplied Australia and beyond (exporting to several countries) with quality artists materials and advice ever since. Chroma Inc was founded in the USA some 20 years later and is also a success story.

Like any Company trading in today’s markets, we have a responsibility to ensure we source and use the right materials with a strong theme of waste reduction and recycling all the way through our hierarchy at Chroma Australia. Hopefully the flow on effects are felt not only by our customers, but by our competitors too.

For the nearly 50 years that Chroma has been trading, strong practices as a company in regards to environmental care has always been a priority. Given that we are a medium sized, privately owned entity, introducing new processes to look after both our customers and our planet isn’t that challenging for us, because not only do we want to do it, but we have the flexibility to push through new ideas quickly and in an effective manner. This is reflected in our pursuit of packaging that is not only recyclable but already contains recycled materials.
