Kids Scratch Art Play Session

Let the little legends loose on scratch art for the arvo! From bold scribbles to wild patterns, this two-hour play session is all about having a crack, seeing what happens, and taking home a scratchy masterpiece (or three). No rules, no pressure, just pure arty fun.

Date: Saturday 27th September 2025
Time: 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Location: Art Shed, 475 Warrigal Rd, Moorabbin

Duration: 2 hour interactive demo, run like a class.
Level: Beginner
Ages: 5+
Cost: Free
What to Bring: All scratch art materials are provided. Please bring a labelled water bottle and a snack if needed.

Parents are welcome to stay and watch.
Children over eight may be left for the session, but must be signed in and out.
Instructors hold current Working With Children Checks.

Kids Halloween Acrylic Painting Class

Looking for something spooky, fun and creative these school holidays? This class is perfect for little artists ready to dive into the Halloween spirit!

Join instructors Skye and Shae for a step-by-step acrylic painting session with a special Halloween theme. Just like a paint and sip (without the sip), kids will follow along with a set subject and finish with their own masterpiece to take home.

Whether your child is brand new to painting or already loves to create, they’ll have a blast, build confidence, and leave proud of what they made.

Duration: 2 hour sit-down class. Parents welcome to sit in; tickets required if painting.

Spring Textured Art Workshop

Curious about textured art and how to bring dimension into your paintings? This workshop is your chance to experiment with acrylic mediums and create a floral-inspired textured artwork with a spring theme.

Join instructors Lenis and Hayley for a hands-on session exploring textured acrylic mediums. You’ll learn how to layer, shape, and build your designs, while receiving guidance and demonstrations throughout the class.

Perfect for beginners and hobbyists, you’ll leave with a unique springtime artwork that’s all your own.

Colour Theory Demo with Kat

Want to unlock the secrets of colour and make confident choices in your painting? This relaxed, info-packed demo is for you.

Join artist Kat for a clear, practical walkthrough of colour theory fundamentals: the colour wheel, primary/secondary/tertiary colours, warm vs cool, harmony and contrast, plus how complementary and analogous schemes change the mood of your work. Kat will also demonstrate mixing and blending to help you create depth, balance and cleaner mixes.

Whether you’re new to painting or looking to tighten up your colour choices, you’ll leave with practical tips you can use straight away.

What’s Art Chat & Chill?

Art Chat & Chill is our casual community hangout — held monthly in-store. It’s not a class, it’s not a demo, it’s a vibe.

Bring your sketchbook, journal, current project or just yourself. Sit, chat, create, caffeinate, and hang with fellow art lovers in a relaxed, no-pressure space.
Sometimes we demo a new product, sometimes we just vibe to a playlist and play with supplies.
It’s free. It’s friendly. It’s very Art Shed.

Looking for a relaxed space to hang out, chat about art, and get inspired? Our Art Chat + Chill sessions are all about connecting with fellow creatives in a casual, welcoming environment.

Hosted at Art Shed, this is your chance to bring along your ideas, questions, or even just your curiosity. We’ll chat about techniques, materials, current trends, and whatever else the group wants to dive into. It’s less of a class and more of a creative catch-up - a way to share, learn, and connect with other artists in the community.

Whether you’re brand new to art or a seasoned creative, you’ll leave with fresh ideas and maybe even a few new mates.

What's the difference between a demo and a class?

• Free Demos:
  Think of these as casual drop-ins. No need to book, no pressure to participate. Our artists demo a product, technique or medium, and you’re welcome to ask questions, watch closely, and maybe even have a dabble. You’ll leave inspired (and probably with a new art supply on your wishlist). No commitment. No cost. Just creativity.

• Paid Classes:
  These are structured, hands-on sessions guided by one of our amazing artist facilitators. You’ll be walked through techniques, tips and projects - whether it’s drawing, painting, journalling or something else entirely. All materials are usually included, and spots are limited so bookings are essential.
