Art Classes

Paint n Sip with Dad or for Dad this Fathers Day – A Creative Day Out

Celebrate with Dad, or make him a special gift - All supplies provided. BYO drinks & dinner.

Ages 18+

Treat Dad (or step-dad, pop, father-in-law, or that top bloke who’s like a dad to you) to a fun and creative afternoon at our special Father’s Day Paint n Sip. Whether you bring him along or surprise him with a custom artwork as a gift, this class is all about good vibes and great memories.

Guided by our awesome instructors Kat & Poppy, you’ll be led step-by-step through the process of painting a campfire-inspired scene, perfect for outdoorsy dads and lovers of fireside nostalgia. Got your own idea? You’re welcome to bring a reference image and do your own thing! And hey, if not to gift your masterpieces with each other at the end of the night, then what's more valuable than quality time?

What’s Included:

All painting materials – canvas, brushes, paints, palettes, aprons & more

Optional: Bring a reference image if you want to go rogue with your design

At Art Shed, we believe art should be fun and for everyone. No prior painting experience is needed this class is perfect for beginners.

We encourage you to bring your art to share with the group or share anything you might be struggling with so we can help find a solution to your artistic woes. Mastering Painting Mediums

Curious about how to elevate your painting skills or expand your understanding of different paint mediums? This demo is for you!

Join artist Kat, for an insightful session exploring the wide world of painting mediums. From impasto techniques and thinning agents to gels, varnishes, and more! You’ll gain practical knowledge on how each medium can enhance your creative process.

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced painter, you'll leave with fresh inspiration and a deeper understanding of how to make your materials work for you.

When and Where

Date: Saturday 12th September 2025
Time: 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm
Location: Art Shed, 475 Warrigal Rd, Moorabbin

Duration: 1.5 Hour sit-down demo. Attendees encouraged to ask questions.

What to Bring: Bring a notepad or any other note taking material to get the most out of the info session

Attendees are encouraged to ask questions throughout - this is an interactive, relaxed way to learn directly from an experienced artist.

Please note this is a free demonstration of our items and techniques, not a fully hands-on, paid class. While attendees can try these mediums themselves with our sample items at the end of the demo, it won't be the same intensive guidance as our classes.

There's no need to book for our free demos; simply drop in and let the creativity flow!

Art Shed's in-store demos are free, sit-down sessions designed to introduce you to new art products and techniques. These events are usually lecture-style, with our experienced team members demonstrating how to use specific materials or mediums.

While primarily observation-based, some demos may include a small hands-on component to briefly try out the featured products yourself. They're perfect for artists of all levels who want to learn, ask questions, and get inspired.

Art Classes – Hands-On & Creative

Our paid art classes are hands-on workshops in which you create your own artwork while following along with the host. Art Shed provides all the materials needed for the session, and you'll receive step-by-step guidance throughout.

Classes are ideal for those wanting to build their skills, enjoy a creative experience, or complete a project with the help of experienced instructors. You'll walk away with a finished piece and new techniques to use at home.
